台灣勞動部長洪申翰向BBC中文表示，政府計劃三年內修法，改善移工聘僱制度，並禁止製造業和漁撈業向移工收取招募費。他指出，移工人權必須符合當代標準，避免受到債務約束；隨著國際供應鏈品牌對勞工保障的要求日益提高，部分台灣產業已接獲改善通知，法規也須與國際接軌。
